ELEMENTS OF THEATRE

About Project

"Elements of Theatre" was a partnership program between Lakeshore Arts and Community Living. Created by artist/educator Thom Stoneman, "Elements" was designed to introduce adults with developmental needs to the basics of theatre: improv, singing, rehearsal, dancing, blocking, set design, props, costumes, and of course performance.

Journal

We had the pleasure of filming this mini-documentary at Community Living in Etobicoke, Canada. This was one of the most uplifting and heartwarming projects we have ever worked on. Although we had extremely limited access to the participants over the course of 6 weeks, we were completely affected by the heart of everyone involved in this project.

Testimonial

[The Woods] was brought in to capture the experiences of the instructors, participants, and staff, as well as record the final production. They were professional, engaged in the experience, and went above and beyond to edit a final product that was polished as well as in-depth. Their instincts as filmmakers and editors made the process seamless, as they was able to capture beautiful moments without even realizing they were there. For such a specific and careful project, [The Woods] was perfect for the job. I can't recommend them highly enough for any project that would need professional instincts, a keen artistic understanding, and meticulous attention to detail. - Thom Stoneman
